It has been a year and half since  one of my friend passed me the project of Acción Sierra Nevada . As this association is formed by the mountain lovers to protect the mountain, they were touched by the earthquake in Nepal. They initiated a project to collect funds and help one village in Nepal.  I wrote them about the situation in Langtang and why they should help this village. They replied me with so much grace and love. And these are are kind of people with immense heart. Since than they worked so hard to collect 7.568,35 Euros fund and go to Langtang to help the most needed families.

In September 2015, they went to Nepal and completed their project and words. They not only helped the people but also had an emotional contact with the valley.

Mamut Sierra Nevada collaborated actively with Acción Sierra Neavada. I am translating the post they published after their return from the valley.  ¨Langtang will rise again¨

In Kathmandu we bought materials : crystals for window, tubes, water tanks, solar showers, mattresses, duvets, pillows, cements and everything was loaded in a truck to transport it to Shyabru Besi.

We hired the porters in Shyabru Besi who loaded the materials for two hard days to the height of 3475 mtr. where many families will be helped to make a small tea houses and make a living out of it and have a roof over the head.

We also bought extra mattresses to distribute among the old people. We heartily thank to all the donors who believed us for this emotive trip to help the needy people. On behalf of these needed people we would like to convey their thank you. Not only you helped them financially but you supported to enhance their life. Many of them lost their family members, houses to live, children and everything in the earthquake of 25th April 2015.

The Langtang Valley is alive again.

There are numerous lodges already build to give shelter to the people who wants to know the valley and trek there. The region has surprised us with it´s natural beauty, the kindness of the people who were proud of their Tibetan culture, mountains higher than 7000m like Langtang Lirung, gorgeous summit of more than 5000m like Cherko Ri and also Kyanjin Ri with 4774mts where you can admire 360 degree view of snowy mountains.

Lots of beauty to be discovered in this hidden valley of Nepal and still much more to help. You can simply help by choosing the valley as your next destination for the holiday and the inhabitants will receive you with open arms and will feel happy knowing that the valley revives again.

During the trip you can enjoy the  less exploited himalayas, Yak cheese and milk in the small Tibetan herd of Shepard, Salt and butter tea, learn about Buddhist philosophy in regards to the life and nature and affecting the daily activities.
